On December 15, 2016 ICM hosted their annual holiday party and teamed up with HomeAid in an effort to collect diapers and blankets for those in need this Holiday Season. HomeAid Northern Virginia is a successful and dynamic non-profit that builds and renovates housing and shelter facilities for the organizations that own or operate them. A typical baby needs 10-12 diapers a day, and toddlers need approximately 8 diapers. But because diapers are not covered by social welfare systems like WIC or food stamps, and are considered "hygiene items," 36 percent of mothers living in poverty regularly run out of clean diapers for their infant. HomeAid Northern Virginia recently held an event in Woodbridge partnering with SevaTruck which brought hot meals to those most vulnerable in our area. Blankets were the most coveted item and they ran incredibly short. With the help of ICM and our guests at the holiday party we were able to collect both diapers and blankets!
